Welcome to Akaroa Area School
To initiate the enrolment process please click on both links below and fill out our online forms.
- The information you provide via this enrolment link goes straight into our student management system. You will receive a portal login once we have completed the enrolment process.
- We use this form for school trips. We do this comprehensive one at the beginning of the year and then a shorter form on a trip by trip basis. Please read the AAS Policies and Procedures Conduct document below before completing this form.
Please forward these documents to the school. We are happy to copy originals if required.
- Copy of the students’ Birth Certificate.
- If your child was not born in NZ, a copy of the child’s Passport showing their residency status and Student Permit should also accompany the application.
- A copy of their last School Report unless a new entrant.
- For students who are studying NCEA, please attach a copy of their most recent Report.
- Any information from your child’s previous pre-school or school that may help your child settle into Akaroa Area School.

Please read the document below. You will be asked to confirm you have read it and agree in the start of year form.

We require all our parent helpers to be police vetted so if you think you would like to get involved then please fill out the form below. Hard copies are available from the school office. Please bear in mind that this process must be completed ahead of time and that it can take several weeks for the result to come back to us.
We also have a variety of ways that we communicate including an email sent to parents every Monday, for other ways please see below.

Lastly we have an app that provides access to notices and permission slips as well as being our way to contact parents in emergency situations. It also provides a handy link for phoning/emailing an absence to the school. To download our app please go to the google play or the app store and search for “Skool Loop”. Once you have done that please open the app on your phone and select Akaroa Area School. Please make sure you keep the notifications activated or you may miss vital information or emergency notifications.
