If we need to get an urgent message to parents in the case of an emergency (e.g. early school closure), we will use the same text system to contact parents. In this case, we will usually contact the first two caregivers named in our system. We will also try to send an email to our mailing list. To reply to us under these circumstances, where possible, please contact us by email as we may need phone lines for urgent calls and to contact those without email. We will also endeavour to update the facebook page and website. If you are asked to collect students please make sure they are signed out.
If we have to send students home early by bus, we will send out a text message to parents. Please reply to the message so we will know it has been received. We will work through these responses and then phone parents who have not responded or who have no coverage.
If bad weather conditions necessitate cancelling morning buses we will send out a text message and an email as early as we are aware of the issue. We will also update the message on the school cell phone. If you are in any doubt as to whether school is open or buses are operating, please call 027 516 9676 and the voicemail message will give an update. This phone is not checked for messages so please ring 304 7108 if you want to leave a message.
If the bus does not run in the morning, it will not run in the afternoon so if you drop your children to school when bus is not operating you will have to make arrangements for them in the afternoon.
