The Echo – Term 4

Asbestos Removal

As part of the ongoing construction works Hawkins will begin work on block 4 (room 9 and 10) over the Christmas and New Year periods.

This building has been confirmed to contain asbestos. They have engaged Southern Cross Asbestos Removal licensed by WorkSafe to carry out its safe removal.

The asbestos removal work is scheduled to take place from Monday 16 December.  During the removal process, air monitoring will be undertaken by an asbestos assessor, licensed by WorkSafe, followed by a clearance inspection to ensure all asbestos containing material has been removed.  Our neighbours will be advised by Hawkins and we recommend our community stays away from the site over this time.
