Back to School Requirements for 2019

Shared Lunch Clarification

Just to clarify, the school will be providing a sausage and bread for students and parents at Friday’s shared lunch. On a communal table inside the Food Tech Room for parents and staff, there will also be scones and sandwiches but if parents would like to bring a plate to share, that would be much appreciated. 

Celebrating our weeks of ELI
We would like to invite parents and whanau to join us at 12.30 on Friday 7 December for a shared lunch at school. The students will take this opportunity to showcase some of their learning over the previous three weeks. 

3 December Weekly Events and Reminders

Free Workshop for Parents
Please see the flyer attached from the Mental Health Education and Resource Centre regarding a free workshop for parents. The topic is “Supported and resilient children and teens.”:
Wednesday 5 December 6-8pm in the school gym.

Spring Show
Thank you to students, staff and parents for a fabulous day. We were very lucky with the weather.

Water Week- Years 6-10
Please refer to the email sent via the office in regards to Water Week with the timetable attached outlining students activities. Weather may be marginal. Activities will go ahead where possible so make sure students come prepared with gear and extra warm clothes. 

Senior Picnic
The senior picnic is due to take place on Thursday 6 December. If weather is not suitable this will be postponed to Monday 10 December. 

Junior Hub Picnic
Our annual Junior Hub Picnic will be held on Friday December 7 at 12:30. There will be hot chips, Constable Tim, The Fire Truck and a giant water slide on the field. 

Celebrating our weeks of ELI (Experiential Learning Inquiry) 
We would like to invite parents and whanau to join us at 12.30 on Friday 7 December for a shared lunch at school. The students will take this opportunity to showcase some of their learning over the previous three weeks. 

School Reports-Years 1-10
End of year school reports will be sent electronically to parents on Friday December 7 via the office.

Parent Helpers
This week Tim Devaney will be helping in Pohatu with IT on Tuesday P6 and Thursday P5. Jason de Vink will be helping Stephen with the sailing on Wednesday morning (Water Week). Constable Tim and Mark Thompson will be helping at Friday’s picnic with their flashing lights.

Pompallier Residents and Grandparents
Please see attached the invitation to the Grandparents morning tea in Hinewai Hub on Tuesday December 11. We have received 2 confirmations. Please rvsp this week.

School Prize Giving
Our school prize giving will be held on Thursday December 13 at 11am in the school gym. We look forward to celebrating our student’s achievements and successes with you. You are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy on the field afterwards. The pool will be open for parents to supervise their children from 1.30pm until 3pm. School bus will depart at 1.30pm

Year 11-13 Call back : Prizegiving practice on 12 December.
Compulsory call back day for Year 11-13 students will be on Wednesday 12 Dec at 1:30pm. Attendance is compulsory (school uniform not required).

Last day of term: Friday 14 December
School will be open for business on Friday 14 December while staff have a Professional Development day.
To facilitate us in scheduling our staff and transport please let us know by this Friday (7 December) if your children will be present.
